Krillion Strategy
A higher score is a better legal answer, submitted on purpose. These tips are for playing. They are not an answer list.
Four checks before you submit
- Read the boundary. Name the exact limit in the question before you name a thing. A province, a planet, or a permanent member is a smaller set than the famous related names.
- Hold two candidates. Keep one answer you are sure fits and one less obvious answer that also fits. Submit only the one you are willing to lock in.
- Spend the clock on the wording. The 25-second window starts when the question opens. Switching tabs does not pause it. An unlisted try can be edited until the deadline.
- Review one miss. After the round, open the dive log and learn the boundary you missed. Do not try to memorize the whole bank between questions.
Why the first correct idea is often the cheap one
Each listed answer has a fixed practice tier: 10, 15, 30, 60, 85, or 100. The tiers are editorial choices for this bank, not a live count of other players. On “Name one of the eight planets,” Earth and Neptune both fit. Earth is the 10-point starting pick. Neptune is the 100-point pick. Pluto does not fit, because the wording excludes dwarf planets.
That spread is why a safe answer and a less obvious answer should both be in mind before you press Submit. Once an answer is accepted, the question closes. You cannot trade Earth for Neptune afterward. The same rule is in the scoring guide and the rules.
Practice the decision
Five short calls. Each one uses a rule you will meet in a live round: boundaries, the clock, a closed question, and a retry. Nothing here is today's route.
Decision 1 of 5
You remember Yukon and Ontario. Which submission fits this wording?
Name one of Canada's ten provinces.
Where to use the tip
- Krillion daily practice when you want the shared seven-question route and the real 25-second window.
- Topic practice when one category is costing you points. Turn the timer off until the scope line is easy to read.
- Krillion Unlimited when you want a finished ten-question score and another ten right away.
- A friend match when the same route should decide a winner. There you also have 60 seconds to leave the feedback screen.
Strategy questions
How do Krillion strategy tips raise a score?
Points come from the answer you lock in. A familiar correct answer can score 10 while a less obvious correct answer on the same prompt scores 100. The gain is choosing the less obvious fit before you submit, not submitting twice.
Should I play timed or untimed while learning?
Use untimed Unlimited or Infinite while you are learning a boundary. Use the 25-second window when you want the same pressure as daily practice and friend matches.
Do these tips reveal today's answers?
No. The drill uses a few boundaries that are already explained in the rules. Published answer lists are on krillionanswers.org, which is the answers site. This page is about how to decide.
